It's always time for chips, salsa, and margaritas, but now that spring is here and summer is around the corner it's time for salsa verde! Although it may sound complicated or intimidating to make your own salsa, this recipe is everything but. And it's great on everything from tortilla chips to grilled meat.
Super Simple Salsa Verde
- 1/2 pound tomatillos, husked, rinsed, and quartered
- 1 Serrano chili, stemmed, seeded, and roughly chopped
- 1/4 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons cilantro leaves, packed
- 1 garlic clove, peeled
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
- kosher salt
In a blender, combine tomatillos, Serrano, onion, cilantro, garlic and lime juice. Blend until smooth. Season with salt to taste. Serve with chips, tacos, meat, or anything else you'd put salsa on!
